Marisa Baronas, LICSW, AFC Clinician

Marisa is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and provides therapy to Individuals at Access for Change. Marisa works with people of all ages and genders; however, she particularly enjoys working with pre-teens, teens and women.  She has a lot of experience working with people struggling with both general and specific anxieties, including, social & performance anxiety and agoraphobia, as well as mood issues, trauma and struggles around life changes.

Background & Experience

Marisa received her Bachelor's degree in Child Life and Art from Wheelock College, before going on to obtain her MSW from Simmons School of Social Work.  

Marisa is a seasoned and resourceful clinician with decades of experience working with people of all ages, from children to seniors in various settings, who have required behavioral and mental health assistance, adult protective services or assistance with navigating their physical, emotional and developmental disabilities.  

Marisa takes a holistic, compassionate and pragmatic approach to therapy, incorporating a number of different therapeutic modalities including, Psychodynamic, Relational, Humanistic, Strength based, Solution Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral.   She is in the process of completing training in EMDR.

She strives to create a safe and supportive environment for the individuals with whom she works to assist them in meeting their goals with humor, compassion and empathy.
